Admission to the museum is free for the day, but the museum will be accepting non-perishable food donations to the veterans food bank.
Those attending are asked to bring non-perishable food items which will be donated to the food pantry at Moosic United Methodist Church.
In lieu of a fare, Metro Transit is asking passengers to support Feed Nova Scotia by bringing a non-perishable food item or cash donation.
“The food bank can stretch a dollar further than any of us, so if you don’t have any canned foods or non-perishable foods money talks,” Bieker said.
Shurrman said non-perishable food for the food bank can be dropped off at any supermarket in Vancouver, North Vancouver, Burnaby and New Westminster.
On May 12, 2007 over 70 million pounds of non-perishable foods were collected.
